For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 80 or so, no wind, sunny

Other Activity: When drove by before got to gate saw 3 ospreys perched on nest. When I observed saw 2 ospreys on nest one flapping wings, 1 on top of utility pole on other side of Rte 107, still. Then 4th osprey arrived and apparently left food since one that had flapped wings started head down eating, other bird didn't eat until after nestling. Don't know if bird on opposite utility pole was fledged but think so based on behavior of others. Counting that one there were 4 birds total.

General Comments: There was one adult on the nest and another adult on a pole near the nest. There was one fledgling across 107 perched on a pole.
