For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: I could see this platform fairly clearly, and observed no Osprey activity on or around it. I was observing Brophy Salt Marsh Platform during this same time period.
Observation Method: on foot, far onto the marsh to the edge of the creek ( because of low tide) from Island Road

Weather Conditions: 52 degrees, sunny, gorgeous, windy & cool, low tide
Other Activity: Osprey incubating on the nest, then at 10:50 AM, the mate flies in to swap out incubating duties. The first Osprey leaves the nest for a fly about at 10:55, then perches on the platform nest perch. The second Osprey then aerates the nest and settles in to incubate. At 11:00 the Osprey on the nest perch soared off and out of sight. A nice visit.

Weather Conditions: 55 degrees, sunny with clouds coming in, windy, very low tide
Other Activity: Adult Osprey incubating on the nest, takes a very short fly about around the nest, lands on & aerates nest, then settles back on the eggs. At 12:15 PM, mate flies to nest, then down into a creek, then perches on the marsh, just to the right of the nest. There was one Osprey perched on the marsh, way off to the left of the nest, the entire visit. Another O soared above that perched O, at one point. There were several small groups of soaring & perching Turkey Vultures, way off to the left and way off to the right of the nest area. I also observed ESS-07 during this same time period.
