For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey sits on the platform perch while the other is continually bringing in marsh grass and arranging it. Last night and again this morning, the male was standing on the back of the female and flapping his wings.

Other Activity: I did not see them bring in nest material but both birds were actively moving new material around. At one point, one one osprey flew off and returned with a fish and is eating it on the marsh perch.
