For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The male left for the majority of the day, returning twice to visit the female who was patiently waiting on the marsh perch. When the male arrived, the female immediately flew up into the nest. I have not seen either one from 5 to 8pm which is a change in behavior from the last two weeks.

Other Activity: One incubating, shifted a bit but not much. Other perched on nearby piling. Another flew overhead but didn't linger. The one on the piling eventually left.

General Comments: This pair started late again this year. I expect they will be late hatching.

General Comments: Perched on the edge of the nest looking into the nest. Every so often she is preoccupied by what was going on inside the nest. I would guess there is a hatchling there.
