Weather Conditions: blue skies, high 50s. light wind
Other Activity: During observation, potentially two osprey perched on nest and one quickly took flight chasing away 2-3 other intruders. The first osprey stayed perched and they second one flew away. Viewed from Island Rd so difficult to confirm that the second was an osprey and the first one perched I assume was an osprey because it remained on the nest. The distance made confirmation difficult.

Weather Conditions: Temp in high 40's & getting colder; sunny; strong, steady wind with occasional very strong gusts
Other Activity: Initially Bird #2 (larger) sat within the nest & Bird #1 (smaller) perched on the nest rim opposite Bird #2. Then #2 hopped onto rim & #1 slid over right next to #2. They sat for about five minutes like this. Then it looked like bird #1 went on top of & behind #2 (copulating?). #1 spread wings intermittently while doing this. Bird #1 flew away for about five minutes & returned to the same position. They repeated the earlier activity for a short time. Then #1 flew away again & did not return before I left the area, which was at least fifteen minutes later. After about five minutes, #2 flew away & did not return.
Observation Method: on foot
General Comments: It was exciting to see one bird in the morning and two birds later on the same day. Can we name them?
