For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One Osprey was on the light pole to the right of the nest, eating a fish, the other Osprey was flying around the nest area and then flew off towards the river.

Observation Method: At first in vehicle at cvs parking lot, walked around the park and then observed from the bleachers for a while.

Other Activity: Female on nest arranging sticks in nest around her. Male on marsh perch

Weather Conditions: 53 degrees clear skies and breezy

Other Activity: When I arrived I saw one osprey perched on a tree a bit away from tbe nest. After awhile it flew around a bit then perched on a branch below the nest. After a bit more it flew off. I then saw the second osprey. It took off and started to fly around. It did some sort of aereal display, scree hing and diving.

Observation Method: On foot with sporting scope and binoculars.

General Comments: During my 30 minutes of observing neither osprey was on the nest.

Other Activity: male on marsh perch, female on nest arranging nest material. Male flew from perch, approached nest to mate and then returned to marsh perch. Eagle fly over.

Weather Conditions: 50’s, slight breeze, wispy clouds otherwise clear skies

Other Activity: Made a quick swing by nest on way out on errand and was surprised to see an osprey perched on edge of nest. No other osprey observed.

General Comments: Returned early afternoon 12:15PM. No osprey observed
