For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 66F, 91% humid, 7mph wind speed, cloudy, high tide

Other Activity: one adult OSPR was perched on nest, feeding itself; 2 nestlings observed - one stretched its wings several times; adult OSPR 2 landed on nest for a moment before flying off again. OSPR 1 started feeding one chick, while the other continued to observe and on several occasions, tried without success to reach the food that OSPR1 was feeding the first chick.

General Comments: Nest is high so can't see if eggs or young. One adult on nest itself, other on perch above nest. One on nest left twice and flew in a low, wide circle around marsh and came back to nest. Couldn't see that it had fish in talons and didn't look like it was feeding young. What was it doing? Seen this behavior from this pair before.

Other Activity: one adult OSPR1 perched on nest; OSPR2 arrived with food; OSPR1 fed itself and the chicks; OSPR2 flew away quickly & was observed a few mins later feeding itself while perched on a lower rung of the tower.
