For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: one adult, one juv at the nest; adult feeding self, juv doing lots of wing flapping, trying to take off but doesn't quite make it; no other Osprey found in the vicinity - I sure hope the second juv has fledged and was safe somewhere I couldn't see

Other Activity: The pair started the day off with aggressive nest building/housekeeping. They are fascinated with the deflated balloon and spent a good deal of time rearranging it in the nest. They then carried in fresh sticks and added them to the pile. They are now perched on the nest and marsh perch.

Weather Conditions: 72 degrees, mostly cloudy, wind 3 mph
Other Activity: 2 fledglings observed. Spent time on nest, preening, flying around the marsh, making passes at the water. They both perched on short stumps, bobbing heads as if to focus on movement in the water. Both were quite vocal. Observation platform area is becoming very overgrown, making it difficult to see birds at times.
