For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: After several days of no activity, a female osprey appeared on the marsh perch. I don’t believe this bird was one of the pair that was here all summer.

Weather Conditions: clear / cool

Other Activity: Only male remains, female has departed. Final report , nest failed after long incubation period. The pair built up the nest alot after the eggs failed. Hopefully next year is successful, clearly this was a young pair. Eventually tolerated the MBTA rail yard pair, able to coexist in the reservation together.

Other Activity: 2 osprey (probably the juveniles), on the #2 platform, and 1 osprey is perched on the edge of the nest

Other Activity: one osprey way out in marsh grass perched on a log. 2 osprey in nest. 1 osprey perched on old abandonned pier. 2 osprey flew from nest and 1 flew to edge of Saugus River and waded up to its knees for around 5 minutes. It then flew up to and perched on the pier not too far from the other one.

Other Activity: one osprey way out in the marsh grass perched on a log. 2 osprey in nest. One perched on old abandonned pier. 2 osprey flew from nest and 1 flew to edge of Saugus River. It waded in the water up its "knees" for around 5 minutes. It then flew up to and perched on the pier, not too far from the other one

Other Activity: one juv perched on smaller platform post, then flew over to nest on larger platform; second juv flew in to the nest with a fish and began eating; a third bird flew in and perched on the larger platform - the air was too hazy to be sure, but I think it was an adult
