For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male was incubating, female was perched on nearby piling. Soon after, she returned to the nest and resumed incubating. Male stayed perched at first. They both flew off, circled, then returned. Eventually the male seemed to be incubating along side the female.

Other Activity: Male perched on nearby Little Aquavitae daymarker. Female incubating. Male eventually flew over and perched on the nest, and started eating.

Weather Conditions: 72° F Winds SW 4-7 mph 20% cloud cover

Other Activity: Female in nest, male approaches with fish, but flies away with it. 3 other osprey appear, one approa approaches nest, flies off. 5 osprey visible at once. 3 eggs in nest. None of the other 4 osprey join female in defending nest.

Other Activity: one bird down in nest, second bird perched on driftwood quite a bit east, feeding self the square frame platform to the west and across the river has one bird perched (NOT incubating) at the nest, a second down in the grasses to the east
