For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: The female Osprey arrived and the two stayed on platform one for a few minutes. Then, as per protocol, they socially distanced and the male flew over to platform 2.

General Comments: The male was perched on platform 2, the female had just landed on platform one when a juvenile eagle flew over the marsh towards the platforms. The two Osprey flew towards the eagle as a flock of seagulls divebombed the eagle. The eagle flew off and now both Osprey are perched on platform 1

General Comments: Ollie & Olivia were both on the nest. Then Olivia flew to a nearby tree and perched for 15 minutes. Ollie came & went from the nest. Then I saw another osprey flying a distance from the nest & Ollie took off in that direction & out of sight. After a short time Olivia flew off in the same direction.

General Comments: The single osprey continues to go back and forth between platform 1,2 and 3. 2 osprey circled over the nest and marsh for about 10 mins prompting the “occupant” to fly to platform 1. While bringing nesting materials to the nest, the osprey was divebombed by a single osprey.
