Name: Shirley Singleton

Nest Name:
ESS-05 - Singleton Salt Marsh Platform

Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Osprey Perched

Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2019-05-31
6:00 AM to 11:30 AM
at: Essex

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible:

Number of Fledglings Visible:

Weather Conditions: Sunny

Other Activity: The pair continues to be at or around the platform daily, occasionally flying to get some sticks ( new behavior - they finally figured out that marsh grass and a trash bag kept blowing off the platform) and bringing in fish to eat. Right now they are perched side by side on the marsh perch. When on the platform, one tends to be on the platform perch while the other rearranges sticks. The size of the nest is not growing. I think (hope) they are practicing for next year. The mash perch locations allows them to watch the incoming tide

Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
No Osprey visible on Nest

Location, Date & Time of Observation:

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 0

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0

Weather Conditions: 65 degrees, high tide, beautiful, sun & clouds

Other Activity: I'm sad to say that there was no Osprey incubating on the nest, for the first time this season. The good news is that both adults are accounted for and were perched side by side on the marsh perch. Osprey are resilient.

Observation Method: on foot, on the marsh, to the edge of Hardy Creek, the boat ramp is back in place and that is helpful
