For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: could not tell that there was any bird down in nest, but one was perched on driftwood east of platform; for the 4-legged platform west of Chaces: also could not see any bird down in the nest, but one was perched on a post east of that platform, and another one in the grasses west of that platform

Other Activity: one bird down in nest, second bird flew in with a big stick, then flew off; on platform directly across the water: one bird incubating in nest, second bird perched on staddle nearby; across the water quite a bit south, on what looks like an old duck blind: one bird down in the nest, second one perched on corner of structure

Weather Conditions: Very windy, 66 degrees

Other Activity: The day started with eating fish, some minor nest building and a whole lot of flying down to sit on the marsh then back to the platform all day long. At one point, a third osprey came in and was swooping in at the platform until finally flying away towards Ipswich. Their current version of the nest has stood up to the extreme winds coming across the marsh today. Much better than their previous versions.
