This property, owned by the City of Haverhill and protected under a Greenbelt-held conservation restriction, was acquired in 2024 through funding from the Local Acquisitions for Natural Diversity (LAND) Grant Program. It features a popular and well-maintained trail network that links seamlessly with nearby conserved areas, including the City’s Rurak Point Conservation Area to the west and the jointly managed Crystal Gorge Conservation Area just across Crystal Street.

Creek Brook is a permanently protected public open space, safeguarded from development under Article 97 and a Conservation Restriction. This natural haven invites year-round outdoor adventure — enjoy hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hunting, trapping, horseback riding, wildlife watching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more amid its scenic beauty.

Encompassing 1,500 feet of scenic lakefront, Creek Brook is a vital addition to more than 300 acres of protected conservation land in the Crystal Lake region — preserved to safeguard clean water, support diverse habitats, and nurture local wildlife. This rich and varied landscape includes winding streams, thriving wetlands, towering forests, and rugged rocky ledges, each brimming with plant and animal life. Visitors might spot white-tailed deer, playful otters, elusive mink, hardworking beavers, wild turkeys, ospreys, owls, and an impressive range of waterfowl. Anglers will enjoy peaceful spots to cast a line, with the opportunity to catch largemouth bass, pickerel, sunfish, perch, and more. For a truly memorable outing, follow the trails along Creek Brook to a rare and fascinating feature—a double beaver dam tucked into the heart of this natural haven.
