For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: female sitting deep in the nest peeping to say I'm lonely. Male arrives with a fish, lands in the nest and is greeted warmly, but then flies from the nest to perch on a canoe rack below the nest and eat the fish. Herring

Weather Conditions: 60 degrees, sunny, cloudy, fierce wind on the marsh, high tide - the creeks were full

Other Activity: Adult Osprey deep in the nest bowl, facing left, looking towards the road w/pink house, that goes over to Plum Island. There was an egg roll, then the Osprey resettled itself in the nest.

Observation Method: on foot, first on the slope for height, then down on the marsh

General Comments: Not 100% sure if incubating, but low position in nest and relative lack of change over 30mins would suggest incubation.

General Comments: A number of Great Black-backed Gulls soaring around & perched on the marsh
