For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Could see female on one egg possibly more. Male was on a adjacent boat . They were calling out to one another

General Comments: Great to see them this year . Did not want to get to close the female was communicating and the male who I did not see right away was standing on a raised boat ladder feet away .

Other Activity: the male was perched below the nest and the female sitting on the nest when I arrived. Within 5 minutes the male took off and shortly after another osprey started flying towards the nest. The male returned and chased him away and perched on the nest.

General Comments: first time seeing birds on this nest in 2020

Other Activity: very hard to see the incubator, but soon a 2nd OSPR flew in and perched on the nest; both OSPRs flapped their wings at each other before the 2nd one flew away and the 1st one settled down again.

General Comments: so far, so good with this pair. Only time will tell if there are eggs, if the eggs hatch, and whether there will be any chicks

General Comments: Osprey perched near this new nest site, which consists of a small 3x4 foot platform that was probably once the floor of a hunting blind. It is raised about 12-18' off marsh. I added some extensions to the sides to help retain nest materials, which are sparse now but could build. No eggs.
