General Comments: Due to the distance and angle to the nest we cannot determine if the nest has eggs. We observe this nest from transmission tower C155s/15. Upon arrival we observed one osprey moving about in the nest. Shortly thereafter a second osprey arrived and perched itself on the transmission tower just above the nest. After a short period of time the first osprey in the nest departed the nest. The second osprey perched on the transmission tower then entered the nest and was moving about. At 12:45 PM a third osprey arrived and soared over the nest. Before anything could happen the first osprey returned, chased the third osprey away, and perched itself on top of the transmission tower. The third osprey retreated and perched itself on top of another transmission tower between our tower and the nest"s tower. We thought that this would end in a stalemate. However, the first osprey on top of the nest's tower took off and in a dive bomber type action dove at the third osprey. The third osprey took off and confronted the first osprey, but new better, and flew off. The first osprey then landed and perched itself at exactly the same location of the third osprey. During this whole time we felt that there might have been a fourth osprey soaring over this area at a much higher elevation. We tried in vain to identify it but it was too high for us to observe. When the third osprey left this bird flew away and up the Danvers River.
