Weather Conditions: 75 degrees cloudy 15 MPH SW

Other Activity: Both parents are perched on the nest. The female is feeding herself and also appears to be feeding a chick deep in the nest. The chick is not visible, but both parents are looking into the nest and appear to be admiring their offspring.

Observation Method: from bedroom window

General Comments: 2020-05-29 The male osprey has been chasing all kinds of intruders away regularly. I've recently seen the male chase a bald eagle, a turkey vulture and a great white egret. I've also seen it chasing away another female osprey that is regularly visiting and hovering above the nest and the resident female until the male chases it away. The intruding female often perches on platform 3 and the resident male attacks and tries to make her fly away--usually successfully after a few diving attacks. The male also chases great blue herons that are flying and tries to chase herons that land in the creek. Typically the herons stand their ground when attacked while in the creek

Other Activity: Dave Rimmer came out to check the condition of the nest and to verify the presence of eggs. We brought an 8;ft ladder to the nest and amid the screeching and diving activity of the parents, we verified there were two eggs. This has been a 7 year journey to attract a nesting pair and I am thrilled! Hopefully, the eggs will hatch successfully in 10+ days.

Observation Method: By foot on marsh

General Comments: Thank you Dave and Greenbelt for your dedication to this cause.

General Comments: Saw exchange between the two birds I think it was the female who stretched her wings twice before flying off. This was by far the bigger of the two birds when she left she flew low to water almost looked heavy right above water level. On my return trip back to forest river I noticed they already switched back and the smaller osprey was on a sailboat feet away from nest
