For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Jack and Ivy are now the official names of the Osprey pair.. Jack is named for the jack-in the-pulpit on the property and Ivy is named after the most prevalent plant, poison ivy. Jack is doing a great job co-parenting with Ivy. He is so dedicated to providing fish and helping to feed the two chicks.

Other Activity: both parents are on the nest and the chicks are growing fast. They now have coloration on their heads and necks and feathers are starting to show on their wings.

General Comments: 2020-06-17We are still getting lots of visits by another female osprey that will fly close above the nest and hover while looking into the nest. She seems to be picking up child-rearing tips. Also the male osprey continues to bring nesting material to the nest and the female often spends time rearranging the nesting material, including quite a bit of plastic film.
