For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: both parents are on the nest and the chicks are growing fast. They now have coloration on their heads and necks and feathers are starting to show on their wings.

General Comments: 2020-06-17We are still getting lots of visits by another female osprey that will fly close above the nest and hover while looking into the nest. She seems to be picking up child-rearing tips. Also the male osprey continues to bring nesting material to the nest and the female often spends time rearranging the nesting material, including quite a bit of plastic film.

General Comments: third day in a row. Viewed from lot across from camp ground and from stone pier. Hoping nesting Osprey is too low in nest to see however No perched Osprey visible either. Hopefully bad timing. Will continue to monitor frequently.

General Comments: Upon arrival there was on osprey on the rim of the nest and this osprey was very active. It kept on dropping its head in the nest and returning to the rim of the nest.At 11:57 PM the second osprey arrived and perched on top of the transmiSsion tower closer to our location. It departed at 12:03 PM. Due to the angle and distance to the nest we are unable to see in the nest, however, due to the action of the first osprey we are assuming something is in the nest.
