Other Activity: Two eagles were perched on the nest on Platform 1 most of the day. One mature and one immature, which is a first. Usually a pair perches together. The immature eagle flew off at about 1: 30 pm , leaving one eagle perching on the nest. No osprey had been visible all day, but suddenly a male osprey began to dive on the eagle repeatedly. Eventually the eagle leaped up at the osprey as the osprey dove. The eagle nearly fell off the nest. On the next dive, the eagle flew from the platform with the osprey in hot pursuit across the marsh. The male osprey returned about 15 minutes later and is now perching on platform 2, which is his normally preferred perch. The eagle has not returned.
