General Comments: On 8/11 the pole & nest were accidentally knocked down by a construction vehicle on the lot where the pole is. National Grid put up a new pole and a metal dish platform late that same night. I have seen the chicks on the platform from time to time. Today for several hours they were making themselves right at home on the platform, sitting down, eating & hanging out as if they were unaware that there was no nest. I'm hopeful that Ollie & Olivia will return next March as they have for the past 10 years that we've been observing them and build a new nest.

General Comments: adult femaale osprey perched on nest when I arrived. She was alarm calling and acting territorial. Flew off nest, then back to nest, then off again, all the while calling. Eventually swooped down on a shoreline tree and another Osprey flew out of that tree but I was unable to see it well. Could have been remaining chick/fledgling but no confirmation. My guess is that this nest has lost all its young and failed.
