For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Female is sitting deep in the nest. Male is perched on perching post in the marsh. Female was making quiet begging calls to the male. May be sitting on eggs.

General Comments: The pair is well-established. I saw a male osprey flying across the marsh by Ring's Island heading in the direction of Town Creek yesterday. He did not pay attention to the resident ospreys at Ring's Island and they did not react to him either.

Weather Conditions: 63 degrees, cloudy, breezy on the marsh, low tide
Other Activity: One Osprey in incubating posture on the nest. Re-positioned itself once and continued incubating. The 2nd Osprey (male) was perched on the perch, to the left of the nest. That Osprey flew at 12:45 PM.
Observation Method: On foot, first from the little hill to gain height to see better in the nest, then down the path and onto the marsh.
