For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Single osprey perched on nest. 2nd osprey arrived with a fish and the nestlings finally became visible to me. There were at least 2 and they were bigger than I expected.

Other Activity: Initially only one perched on a dayboard. Later an apparent intruder approached but was deflected by the fluttering of the first. Later still, what I believe to be the mate landed and perched on another dayboard.

Other Activity: Female perched with young partly visible. Male returned to nest and female left. Male spent all his time looking like he was trying to dry off, shaking his feathers and tail and holding his wings out like a cormorant. When he first arrived the nestling became more visible.

General Comments: Was finally able to correctly locate this nest via photos from Nelson Island parking lot. Too far for decent images[heat haze and vibration in breeze] but did observe with scope one adult of platform feeding fledglings, one of which stood briefly and did strengthening wings flaps. Not sure of number of fledglings. Other adult present on post perch throughout.

Other Activity: Male circling around nest and left as we arrived. Female perched and 3 nestlings had only their heads showing. They are getting large, their heads almost as large as the adults.
