For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 2 Adults off and on nest; probably no eggs yet; one adult brought in a fish, left some for other adult at nest who took it to another tree to eat; one that brought fish stayed on nest and also ate.

General Comments: There is a new nest here because the old one is completely gone. In fact many of these dead trees show the effects of high winds from Fall and/or Winter winds. This adult pair made a new nest in a much shorter tree than the previous tree (about half as high).

Other Activity: One adult sitting on the beginnings of a new nest site. No evidence of old nest in last year's snag. Bird flew off after I observed for about 10 minutes. Did not see any other osprey.
