For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One perched on nest when arrived. Then it left, didn't see where it landed. Another flew in and landed on nest. Then saw either the first (I think likely) or a third osprey on the tower close by.

Other Activity: this blind is a ruin. The bird was on a pole that remains. I couldn't tell if he was with the Salisbury Reservation bird or with the Black Creek platform so I put him here.

Other Activity: The female is sitting deep in the nest for the first time. She may have laid her first egg. Another female osprey approached the nest very close and the resident female raised her wings to ward off the intruder which then circled a couple of times before flying away. This also made me think the resident female is protecting an egg.
