For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Female flew into nest from nearby tree...she was panting heavily...not sure I have ever seen that before on a cool morning...first thought was avian flu....She seemed to be looking down at the nest and cocking her head. I think this is a late nest...not expecting hatching for a few more days.

Other Activity: One adult sitting deep in nest while partner was resting on near by perch

Observation Method: Vehicle/foot

General Comments: The two adults seem committed to this nest. One adult as usual is hunkered down inside the nest. No nestlings observed. Possibility they may be siting on sterile eggs but not verifiable from my vantage point. Will keep watching

General Comments: I No Osprey observed on this visit and only one adult The last two visits prior to 6/28.

Other Activity: I observed this nest off and on for about an hour as I explored Lufkin Creek. While both adults stayed close by ; one on the nest and one perched on the perch beside the nest, I did not actuall see any nestlings. The adult on the nest was perched and ducked it’s head into the nest most of the time II was actively observing which leads me to believe there may be either eggs (still?) or nestlings. Not sure.

Other Activity: Female on nest with chick(s) possibly more than one...feeding it. I could see one tiny head pop up over the nesting material. Male on the marsh perch....did eventually come up and take the fish back to the perch.
