For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Can't be sure without a scope (that I don't have) if there was an osprey sitting on nest or whether what I was looking at was part of the white string mess they've incorporated into the nest, with a string hanging down. After 5 minutes an osprey came and landed on the platform over the nest and stayed there.

Other Activity: both osprey sittying upright in nest close together. Appear to be eating and/or reeding chicks. Male flew to his favorite perchstick in marsh near the nest. Female flew down from the nest to the edge of the Saugus River and waded in . Then flew to other side of the Saugus River waded in and flew back to nest. Male remained on perch the whole time

Other Activity: one bird on nest, another on pole next to one with nest, apparently eating. This bird flew with fish in talons to nest and was apparently feeding chick (s)--saw one on 5/24 or 5/25. First osprey still on nest. THIRD bird flew close to nest, kited for a moment and flew over nest then landed on tower nearby. First osprey left nest and chased third bird away, third bird decidedly bigger than first. Then first bird landed on adjacent utlilty pole, and second was still feeding young. What was the third bird trying to do ??

Other Activity: No ospreys on the platform today. I have a friend who walks the trail every day. He said that he looked at the nest twice a day every day over the weekend and did not see the ospreys at all.

Other Activity: One incubating, other arrived later with fish, left it on nest and chased off intruder. Then the pair swapped places and the other went below to the rocks to feed on the fish.
