For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: I think the nesting site they are using is much to small. Lots of time I have observed one osprey has been trying to land on the nest but has not been able to do so.

Other Activity: Beautiful large striper for a morning meal. Seems like Squam is aware he has a lot of hungry mouths to feed. Good for him! The chicks are all looking very healthy and all seem to be getting enough food.

Other Activity: Adult #1 on nest; adult #2 flew in and perched on nest, possibly dropping food into nest (not observed); both adults stayed perched on nest rim; #1 kept bobbing head down into nest.

General Comments: I think that #1 was feeding youngsters in nest, but it was too deep to see.
