For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 58 degrees, partial sun, 12 mph winds

Other Activity: One Osprey (I think this was the female) was perched on the pole to the left of the nest, while the other Osprey, although not visible at all, could be heard calling from the nest on a few occasions. After I walked back to my car, the female Osprey took off from where she was perched and swapped places with the male Osprey in the nest, and he flew over to perch on the light post to the right of the nest.

Observation Method: On foot and from my vehicle at the CVS parking lot side of the park.
