For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: We have 3 chicks!! Up until today I was only seeing 2 at a time. Ollie was perched in the nearby tree while Olivia was feeding the chicks. They are growing so fast & stretching their wings.

General Comments: a Belted Kingfisher hovered at the platform post for quite a few seconds :-)

Weather Conditions: partly cloudy, hot and humid

Other Activity: 11:05 Female on nest with wings spread to shade chicks. She seems on alert, looking above her and at times ducking her head as if she might be attacked. I heard cawing (crows?) and lots of chirping (osprey). At 11:13 she flew off nest, came back in a minute and took off immediately. At that point the chicks started chirping quite loudly. She returned at 11:16 and stayed on nest.
