For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: This is the nest where the female was killed by an Bald Eagle. No osprey were present.

Other Activity: one adult OSPR1 with no visible food in its claws was perched on top of the tower above the nest then flew down to join 3 other visible OSPRs who were standing in the nest. OSPR2 began feeding itself, then started feeding one of the nestlings. The whole group was pretty restless for the 20 mins that I was observing, flexing their wings & eating.

Other Activity: Saw adult on nest, then one chick, seemingly fairly big came up but could really only see back, maybe it was feeding on fish adult had brought before I got there. First sighting of chick on this nest! Tall nest, started later by maybe a couple weeks than SAU-03

Other Activity: First saw 1 adult and thought I saw 2 chick heads. Then adult flew off, and one chick must have stood up inside nest (as opposed to perching on edge) and flapped its wings once, then did same again. Couldn't see 2nd chick anymore, and the way it looked when this one sat back down, couldn't be sure I'd ever seen 2nd chick.

Other Activity: For most of the hour every time I looked Olivia & the 3 chicks were perched on the nest. Then I went outside & heard a lot of chirping. The 3 chicks were flying in circles all around & Olivia was cheering them on from the nest.
