For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 3 nestlings standing in the nest, then one flew away (now fledged?) while the other 2 watched the 1st one intently; one of the two flapped its wings several times and was able to lift a few inches above the nest.

General Comments: male eating on his staging post female and chicks waiting for their share female calling frequently for food, but male doesn't bring right away more assertive (older?) chick doing some nice wing flapping other chick occasionally stretching wing, but no flapping 5:19 male brings fish to nest (which is now getting quite crowded as chicks are rather large) female eating, if piece drops in nest, chick grabs it. (a day or so ago, I noted that a chick was eating directly from the fish female is feeding both chicks -- but they are trying to grab the food from her before she swallows looks like very nice progress and healthy family
