Weather Conditions: 70℉ Steady breeze with nearly clear skies alternating at times with breeze dying down with clouds moving in. This happened several times.
Other Activity: Young bird on rim of nest; one adult landed on nest for seconds and flew away, leaving nothing; later saw on branch of nearby tree, one adult eating; adult finished eating and left area; youngster was yelping; spotted 1-3 large birds flying very high in circles but could not identify them and they left area; still later an adult Osprey landed on nest (I did not see arrival) and sat on branch of the nest tree, watching as youngster ate; youngster dropped down inside nest after meal was finished & did not comeback up for several minutes (Nap time?); adult flew to nest from branch with young one up for a couple of minutes before spreading wings and returning down into nest; finally adult flew away while young one remained unseen in the nest
Observation Method: On foot
General Comments: Big Thank You for fixing the platform! It's so much safer. Note: At one point, I thought another adult had come to the nest. On further observation from another angle, I realized that it was the young Osprey. (S)he was nearly as large as the adult and had a wide wing span. The only way I could tell the difference was in the coloring of the feathers...adult more black and white with no spots and youngster more brown and yellowish-white with polka-dots all down back feathers.
