For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Adult remained perched, fledgling flew off and on, circling around the inner harbor, several times. The nestling remained perched most of the time, going below only briefly, but did not do any wing exercise.

Other Activity: Adult came and went with soft nesting material, 2 nestlings did some wing stretching then receded into the nest. No sign of a third nestling, could have been down below.

Other Activity: Saw an osprey in silhouette fly behind bushes onto tower near 03 nest. Couldn't tell if adult or fledgling--came from side, just quick glimpse to id as osprey. I think there was only one chick left, and it apppears to have fledged.

Other Activity: 2 OSPR visible, one feeding itself, the other rustling around in the nest; could not tell if the 2nd OSPR was a fledgling or an adult. They seem to be about the same size now.

Weather Conditions: 76F, SSE 4mph, mostly cloudy

Other Activity: Male was feeding a fledgling which then fed itself from the same fish as the parent. Fledgling then left as well as another fledgling that was perched on a rail at the top of the tower. While observing the above, another fledgling flew around and across the tower. After the fledglings left the male did some nest maintenance and then flew off also.
