For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: On the paddle over from Dean, we could see 1 osprey fly into the nest. It then flew off again and landed in a dead tree on Choate Island. A second osprey was also perched in that tree.

Other Activity: Initially 1 adult was perched in the nest. Then it started calling and the second came in carrying a stick. The one in the nest kept calling at it. The second one arranged the stick and the two perched in the nest with the first, the female, I think, kept calling. There was no sign of chicks any longer. I didn't observe any last Sunday either.
