For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Ethel sitting on the nest perch, and Fred sitting on the marsh perch.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.

General Comments: No fledglings visible as the nest is very deep.

Other Activity: Olivia left the nest & flew downstream. Right away she came back chasing an eagle. The eagle landed right outside our window & Olivia spent the next 20 minutes flying at it back & forth from the nest. The eagle finally flew off in the other direction.

Other Activity: 7:05. One osprey perched very tall on nest edge 7:29 disappeared from view 7:31 osprey lands on nest. Bobs. Couldn't see if it brought anything 7:35 male arrives with fish, departs 7:37. Remaining osprey sits, bobs then perches 7:48 2 on nest one bobbing one perched facing out He leaves,hunting overwater 7:49 he's back??? 2 on nest 8:02 I left both still on nest one facing out

Other Activity: Both left the nest soon after we arrived. A later view of the nest from another angle showed them to have returned, one perched on the nest, the other on the ground.
