For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The two nestlings are standing on the edge of the nest and exercising their wings. They are rotating backward at the shoulder joint while mom looks on.

General Comments: Just returned from a two week absence and can’t believe how big they have gotten. Full feathers, squawking for dad to bring in the next meal.

Other Activity: No nest building evidence on platform since last visit, and no Ospreys visible in marsh or on nearby white pine trees.
Observation Method: In vehicle with binoculars.
General Comments: Hoping that next year will bring Osprey nest building activity once the building construction activity on The Governor's Academy science center directly across the Parker River has concluded, and the site is more quiet.

Other Activity: Female is sitting on the nest still, male is sitting on the marsh perch drying his wet wings. Hopefully the weather will clear to see if the eggs have hatched. I am thinking next week or the week after. This may be a big clutch since she had already mated with another male and again mated with the present one. We will see.
