For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Observation Method: On foot and then sitting; with binoculars. First from the nearest wooden bench and then from the Cox, marsh-side viewing platform bench.
General Comments: Male perched on the pole perch, and then on the nest perch; female not visible during this time at all.

Other Activity: 2nd Osprey arrived at the nest at 3 PM, coming and going a few times. Incubating Osprey stayed on the nest. Great to see them both. Had a very nice visit with a very nice friend!! (Bald Eagles close by, this past week)

Other Activity: After five straight days of rogue osprey attacks, the pair resorted to eating their fish in the nest together.

Other Activity: The first Osprey stayed incubating on the nest. A second Osprey was sitting on the marsh - far right of the nest. A clammer was off-loading bags of clams from his boat, upon my arrival. He said he saw the Osprey on the nest as he went by, and had just seen 2 Bald Eagles soaring over the "big island." (right of the nest area)

Other Activity: Osprey was probably squatted. It was deep into the nest and only the head was visible. Mate was not seen. Nest has been built up above the winter damage.
