For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The pair have been defending their area from a stubborn coyote that keeps sitting in the marsh below their platform. The coyote lays down as Bob dive bombs down at his head. The coyote leaps up and tries to grab Bob as he flies over.

Other Activity: Female is sitting deep in the nest and the male is perched on the post on platform 2. This is the first time I've seen her sitting deep, so it may be a sign of an egg. The larger intruding female continues to visit and hover over the nest. The resident female complains and does not leave the nest and the resident male challenges the intruder and she flies away.

General Comments: One in nest that left nest so probably was not incubating an egg. Another in a nearby tree.that took off in flight., too. Could not distinguish which was male or female.

Other Activity: The pair hung around the platform and marsh perches all day. In the past, they always perched separately. This year they are sharing a single marsh perch. The perch on the nest is covered with nest material (unusable?)
