Name: Robyn Lafata

Nest Name:
GLO-04A - Annisquam River Platform #2

Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Osprey Incubating Eggs or Chicks

Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2022-05-19
10:30 AM to 11:00 AM
at: Gloucester

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 0

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0

Weather Conditions: 57 degrees and cloudy.

Other Activity: This is the most activity I have seen in the area. When I first arrived, there were two Opsrey. One in the nest and one on the marsh perch. The male on the marsh went up to the nest and took over egg duty I believe for the female..she preened for a few moments then flew away and returned with a HUGE 3 foot branch. She tried to place it but had to circle the platform again to get just the right spot. They both worked together for a minute or so, then the male flew down to the marsh again as she completed the job. All together there are continuously 4 in this area.

GLO-04 - Annisquam River Platform #1

Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Osprey Perched

Location, Date & Time of Observation:

at: Gloucester

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 0

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0

Weather Conditions: 57 degrees and cloudy

Other Activity: This nest is a mystery to me. I am not sure if because it is a new pair and they are housekeeping or not. One osprey was sitting on the marsh perch and it could have been a light female for all I know because a absolute male came down towards the perch where they interacted a bit and both flew off. The nest seems to be bigger with new nesting material in it...Time will tell.
