For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The one osprey took off as I approached and had a long piece of something like a reed attached to it’s talon. As I left it immediately returned to the nest with the reed.

Other Activity: There was one on the perch on the nest, then they flew away after about five minutes. The other one wasn’t to be found.

Other Activity: 2nd week in a row that only one osprey was sighted and she (presumably she) was incubating. Stayed for 45 minutes in hopes to see her mate, but no luck.

Other Activity: When arrived, one perched on perch very close to nest. Landed on nest, then took off and flew low and near and chased a gull away from a nearby pond and circled back to perch, not nest.

Other Activity: Arrived, no osprey on nest. Came in and landed , stayed about 2 min, flew off, circled around and landed again. Another osprey flew by and circled but did not land. Later a mockingbird was harassing it on the nest! Osprey was standing not sitting the whole time it was on the nest,
