For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male in the nest; Female perched nearby on the pole.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.

General Comments: Male was moving and shifting on the nest as if he was attending to fledglings, but it (they) were not visible.

Weather Conditions: Off &on clouds and sun. Light wind from the east.

Other Activity: Two Osprey appeared this morning. They have been gone for at least a week. Not sure if they are the original couple.

Observation Method: Deck

General Comments: I thought they were gone for good. I am not sure if there were eggs in the nest at any time. They both left 7 to 10 days ago. This morning I was very surprised to observe two osprey on the nest.
