For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey was perched in the nest calling. A couple minutes later a second osprey called from the trees on Choate Island and then flew into the nest with a fish. The kayak group was closer to Choate Island, so even with binoculars I couldn't confirm that a nestling was there even though it seems likely.

Other Activity: Male incubating in high position. Female arrived soon after and replaced the male in a deeper incubating position. Male left. Female remained in the deep position and appeared ready to stay there for a long sitting.

Other Activity: One adult on pole perch 100 ft from platform. Located second adult on staddle about 1/4 mile south. After 5-10 mins adult on perch left carrying something and flew to join other adult on staddle,; then began to eat food it had carried. Birds stayed as I watched another 10 mins.

Other Activity: Male on crossbar down below but left soon after we arrived. Female incubating in high position and one nestling popped up a couple of times. Female seemed busy with other(s) in the far side of the nest that we couldn't see.

Other Activity: 2 ospreys on nest, one left, could see other's head. Could not see young, nest is higher than SAU-03 but I suspect there is at least one chick in this nest too.
