For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: There were definitely two birds. Not sure of they were both adults. One may have been a fledgling - the second did not have distinct adult markings.

Other Activity: Nestling initially hunkered down and adult was calling. The nestling then stood up (some photos taken from kayak), A second adult was perched nearby and then flew around the nest.

Other Activity: One adult was in the nest calling repeatedly after the kayak arrived at the marsh edge. Only one nestling could be seen, hunkered down, but more are possible. A second adult was down in the marsh, but began flying around after the kayak arrived at the marsh.

Other Activity: Observed all the birds in the nest. Chicks were more towards the edge of the nest and visibly active. They were very alert and keenly watching their surroundings. They seem noticibly bigger now, but it's hard to tell relative size. They were maybe 1/3 the height of an adult?
