For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: stayed an extra 10 minutes to see if the third juv would take off, but it didn't

Other Activity: For the first time I saw "Ollie ?" fly off the nest --- leaving it empty. I'd say that's proof of what a strong batch of youngsters Annie & Squam have raised.

Other Activity: When I first checked in at 8:29 there were only 2 fledglings on nest (I assumed Pip-oldest) had flown off, but I didn't see him take off. Then about 1 minute later Squeek (I assume) flew off and returned shortly. In the meantime, Ollie was hopping and flapping his wings. A couple minutes later Squeek (?) flew off and returned again. Still no Pip when I checked out the first time at 8:39. I returned to the site at 9:08am and noted all 3 fledglings back on the nest and Annie on the nest post.

Other Activity: I think there was one chick and an adult on the nest, but could have been 2 chicks--too far to see color difference though one I thought was a chick looked lighter. One I thought was a chick did some wing flapping. One I thought was flegling was on perch very close to nest, it too looked lighter, and it did some wing-flapping. Don't know how many chicks there were for sure because nest built very high and only seen 2 at once that I was sure of, and only once or twice have I seen chicks so far!

General Comments: Saw only 2 nestlings, about as big as adults. Then 1 adult flew in with a fish, and 2nd one came in with a fish. 2nd one left fish and flew off. 1st adult stayed

Other Activity: Female sitting on nest platform and making begging call asking male to join her. Male flies from platform 2 to the nest platform and they perch together

Observation Method: from back yard

General Comments: The nest failed long ago, but the resident pair continues to perch on the nest platform and other platforms for long periods every day and defends the territory from other ospreys that fly near.

Other Activity: Adult perched on nest. Searched the harbor for the young one and did not find it. In the meantime, the adult left the nest and brought a fish to a piling and fed on it.

Other Activity: Adult and one young perched on the nest, another young perched on rocks below. This one flew off and landed in the water several times before eventually flying off. The other on the nest also left and the adult remained alone.

Other Activity: Initially, the adult was n the nest and nestlings were not visible. Minutes later, the adult flew into a nearby tree and stayed perched there for the remainder of my visit. After the adult left tthe nest, 2 nestlings were visible moving around in the nest.
