For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: . Tough call due to heat haze but single bird shape and dark body and white head visible and movement.

Weather Conditions: MId forties, breeze, clear sky
Other Activity: Female on platform, male on perch post. Group of turkey vultures got interested in carrion about 20 ft from platform. Vultures kept passing over/close to platform. Finally male flew to platform and then deliberately dropped down over vultures who scattered. One vulture returned to ground leaving both osprey on platform watOnching other circling above.
