Other Activity: The male was perched on platform 1 and a female flew in from the west. The male made a greeting gesture with his wings and hunched down. The female came straight in and landed and made the same greeting gesture. The male flew off after a few minutes and came back with some nesting material. He repeated this a few times. Later the female flew from platform 1 and carried nesting material to platform 2 and perched for a few minutes. The female then flew away to collect more nesting material and was carrying to back to platform 2 while the male remained perched on platform 1. Just before landing on platform 2 the female turned and flew to platform 1 and landed with the nesting material. The pair then perched together for a few minutes before they both flew away.

Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2024-03-31
11:05 AM to 11:25 AM

Weather Conditions: 46 degrees, sunny with some clouds, Wind NW ~ 6MPH

Other Activity: 2 large adults perched in nest. One was repeatedly spreading its wings. The other appeared to be observing. After a few minutes the one who had been moving its wings flew off and swooped down and brought something back up to the nest. I could not tell if it was a piece for the nest or food but it was moving and the bird seemed to be challenged flying back up. Next the other adult flew off and swooped down making three loops. That one did not appear to capture anything and returned to the nest.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars at the end of Osgood street.

General Comments: They were just beautiful and seeing them fly was spectacular.
