For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Initially saw 1 Osprey flying near 4 turkey vultures.. these vultures are frequently in this area. Then the Osprey landed in the nest where there was a second Osprey. So, the Magnolia couple have returned! Soon they both took off and flew above the nest for a while . Felt like they were doing a welcome back dance. Then they flew off.

Other Activity: Annie on nest @ 8:55; Squam brought long stick @ 8:58 Annie chirping a lot (sometimes high pitched-other times lower pitched). Hard to tell if there is another osprey in area as the sound seems to be delayed from visual. 9:05 Squam flies to far post.

General Comments: Female sitting on marsh perch , then she flew up to marsh. She was looking up in the skies and started calling. Another female flew in and it almost looked like they were fighting, swooping and flying at each other until both flew off towards the railroad bridge.
