For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One Osprey on the nest sitting when we first went by via boat. When we came back later one flew right overhead from a nearby tree near Govs dock and went to the nest perch. Both Osprey appeared to be settling on the nest for the evening!

Weather Conditions: 66 degrees, mostly sunny, few clouds, wind NNW at 6 mph, gusts to 14 mph.

Other Activity: When I arrived, one adult was low in the nest, the other was perched on the post near the nest. After 3 minutes, the other adult flew up to the nest. Both adults stood on the side for a minute or so, then they switched places--the adult that had been sitting in the nest flew down to the post. The adult that had been on the post now sat in the nest. The adult now on the post preened itself. The one now on the nest sat a little higher--I could see its head, back, and tail feathers.

Other Activity: Millie was sitting on her nest incubating eggs. Parker was on his perch down in the grass when we first were observing. He later took off for a while and returned.
