For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Chick is clearly visible! Big! There might be another, or a mirage. So difficult to tell when water movement And heat rising from nest. Male was on far perch. As a bird flew too close to the nest, he took off after it.

Other Activity: 1 adult on nest calling. 2 chicks, both stood up and spread wings a few times. Other adult landed with fish in talons. Proceeded to eat itself but fed some to chicks

Other Activity: 1 adult on perch over nest, other one on nearby perch. 1 chick stood up then went down again. First sighting of any chicks this year! both adults flew off and then came back onto nest. Couldn't tell if had fish when arrived and was eating or whether came back without fish--didn't see chick again--and was bending over preening. Even with scope I can't tell a chick from and adult except by behavior and size until they get bigger.

General Comments: Olivia was on the nest & Ollie arrived with food. There was only 1 chick visible. I look at the nest many times a day and have only seen one at a time for a few days. Hope the other 2 are down in the nest.
