Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Female was low in nest. Male was on a nearby perch pole, but flew off and was hunting over the river. He returned to perch pole empty handed.

Weather Conditions: 83 degrees, 13 mph wind gusts, partial cloudy
Other Activity: One Osprey (thinking it was the male) was perched on the post to the left of the nest where it hung out for a while. Eventually another Osprey (I’m assuming the third Osprey we’ve seen visiting) was visible flying far away over the river, and the first Osprey noticed and started vocalize. The first Osprey then flew off towards the river. Couldn’t see if any Osprey was in the nest.

Other Activity: Shore birds, 3 hawks hunting on shore as usual. BTW: Turkey vulture swooping very low to the grass here and gliding through the trees at an incredibly slow pace. Odd to see here.
